Chase Anderson pitched seven innings of one-hit ball to capitalize on a heads-up rundown escape by Lorenzo Cain and a pair of two-run doubles by Travis Shaw, and the Milwaukee Brewers two-hit the Chicago Cubs 4-0 to take back first place in the NL Central. Travis Shaw hit a pair of two-run doubles, and Anderson locked it down from there to end Milwaukee’s seven-game skid against the Cubs. The Brewers had been shut out in Anderson’s three most recent starts against Chicago. The series wraps up this afternoon as Jhoulys Chacin gets the start. Our coverage on 940 WFAW starts at 12:35.
The Brewers put reliever Matt Albers on the 10-day disabled list with a shoulder injury. His place on the roster is being taken by Jorge Lopez.
