Bond Set for Former Beloit Police Officer Accused of Sexual Assault

A signature bond of $100,000 has been set for a former patrol officer who is accused of sexually assaulting a child. 62-year-old Larry Woods is facing one count of repeated sexual assault of a child. He had his first appearance in court in Rock County on Tuesday afternoon. According to the criminal complaint, the victim was a 14-year-old girl. Woods retired in 2007 from the Beloit Police Department and most recently worked as a security guard with the Beloit School District and Beloit Public Library. Woods would face a $100,000 fine and/or 40 years in prison if he is convicted.
