Former UW-W Defensive Coordinator Named Nominee for National Award

Former UW-Whitewater Defensive Coordinator and Fort Atkinson native Brian Borland has been named one of 53 nominees for the Broyles Award – given annually to college football’s top assistant coach. Borland is in his fourth season as Buffalo’s defensive coordinator and also coaches the safeties. This season, the Bulls lead the Mid-American Conference in total defense, allowing 328 yards of offense per game. They have held five of their opponents to under 300 yards of offense this year.  The Bulls are 9-1 and off to their best start in school history. They will next play at Ohio on November 14.
