A lawsuit has been filed in Dane County Circuit Court in an effort to void a series of laws passed during last month’s lame-duck special session. The coalition of liberal groups and advocates for persons with disabilities argues the session was illegally convened. A Democratic state lawmaker confined to a wheelchair has already filed a complaint about the special session. He says leaders broke the open meetings law when they didn’t say when a vote would be held. His legal action isn’t connected to the suit filed Thursday.
