Widespread moderate to heavy snow continues across the region this morning. Some wintry mix can be expected closer to the Illinois state line, where sleet and freezing rain has occasionally mixed in with the snow. The heaviest snow is expected to fall through sunrise. After that, snow will become somewhat more showery in nature, with a mix of snow and freezing rain and sleet possible across far southeastern Wisconsin. Widespread travel impacts are likely this morning. Additional snow is expected from later this morning into this afternoon. Increasing winds late this afternoon and evening will result in blowing and drifting of snow. Heavy mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Storm total snow of 4 to 7 inches is expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
