Chacin to Start Opening Day; Brewers Tie Angles 7-7

Jhoulys Chacin has been picked to start the Milwaukee Brewers’ opener against St. Louis on March 28. A 31-year-old right-hander, Chacin was 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA in 35 starts last season. He also started openers for Colorado in 2013 and San Diego in 2017.

On the field Milwaukee batters pounded three home runs in a 7-7 tie against the Los Angeles Angels.  The Brewers scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to avoid a loss.  Starting pitcher Freddie Peralta was rocked for five runs in three-and-a-third innings, but nine of the 10 outs he got were strikeouts.  Christian Yelich, Jesus Aguilar and Mike Moustakas hit homers.  Milwaukee plays the Padres this afternoon.
