Lawmakers Consider Refund Of Overpaid Miller Park Sales Taxes

The Wisconsin Senate is considering a bill which would return excess proceeds from the Miller Park sales tax to the people who paid it.  The sales tax was supposed to sunset in 2014, but it is still being collected.  Some estimates indicate as much as 16-million dollars more than was needed to meet the state’s obligation to the Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District has been taken in.  State Senator Tim Carpenter says that money should be returned.
