Assembly Committee Approves Package Of Anti-Abortion Bills

A Thursday vote by the Assembly Health Committee has set up a floor vote for next week on a package of abortion bills.  Democratic Governor Tony Evers is expected to veto the bills.  One bill in the package would require providers to care for babies who are born alive during abortions or face up to six years in prison.  Providers who kill babies who were born alive could get a life sentence.  The Assembly vote is scheduled for Wednesday.
