Stakes Raised in Civil Servants Softball Rubber Match

Jefferson Mayor Dale Oppermann and Fort Atkinson City Council member Mason Becker have raised the stakes on tomorrow’s Battle of the Civil Servants softball game. The teams are comprised of members of the police and fire departments from the two cities. This is the fifth annual game and the series is tied at 2-2,

At stake is a Subway party platter feast for the winning team. If Fort Atkinson wins, Oppermann will buy. If Jefferson wins, Becker will buy the meal.

“It’s kind of like the Slider Bowl between Lake Mills and Lakeside,” Oppermann says, “except we’re promoting a healthier lifestyle with delicious subs from Subway.”

The game, part of the 18th Annual Baseball Festival at Jones Park in Fort Atkinson, will be at 3:30 PM this Saturday.
