An iconic image from most people’s childhoods has been donated to the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
The hot dog and bun shaped vehicle made in 1969, also known as Old No. 7, was gifted to the historical society earlier this week. Oscar Mayer, which has had a plant in Madison for nearly 100 years, is expected to close this month.
Executive Director of the Wisconsin Historical Foundation David Wilder says that the Wienermobile is not the only thing Kraft Heinz has donated to the society and there are talks to acquire parts of the hotdog highway and other items.
