Warhawk men, women lose to Oshkosh

The UW-Whitewater men’s basketball team blew an 11 point second half lead and lost to Oshkosh 67-63 at the Kachel Gym.

The Warhawks jumped out to a six-nothing lead and lead by five at the half. Whitewater’s Chris Jones led all scorers with 22. With the loss there is now a three way tie for second in the WIAC as Eau Claire upset league leading River Falls 83-80. Whitewater will host the Blugolds Saturday evening in the regular season finale. Elsewhere LaCrosse defeated Stout 77-52 and Stevens Point downed Platteville 61-56. The Whitewater women lost a five point half time lead at Oshkosh and lost 59-58 giving the Titans their second straight conference championship. The Warhawks are now tied with Stevens Point for second in the WIAC as the Pointers beat Platteville 69-55. In other games Eau Claire defeated River Falls 44-41 and LaCrosse downed Stout 72-50.
