The UW-Whitewater gymnastics team posted a WIAC Championship record score to win the WIAC and National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Regional title for the fifth time since 2010 last night.
The team total of 191.850 was bolstered by a season-high on the floor exercise to start the night.
Sophomore Lisa O’Donnell compiled the eighth-best all-around score in program history to win the title and was also crowned the vault champion with a 9.7. Senior Courtney Pickett’s performance on the floor, a 9.825, tied her career-high and bested the competition.
Also announced at the regional, Warhawk senior Katie Fiorilli was named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete.
With the title, the Warhawks earn a spot in their 11th NCGA Championships set for March 31 at UW-Stout.
