Badger women shut out in hockey Championship

The Wisconsin women's hockey team lost to Clarkson 3-0 in Sunday's N-C-A-A title game in Saint Charles, Missouri.

Shea Tiley had 41 saves for Clarkson, and Cayley Mercer scored twice as the Golden Knights finished 32-4-and-5 to win their second national crown. Wisconsin made 77 shots in its two Frozen Four contests, with only one goal to show it during Friday's 1-0 semifinal win against Boston College. Badgers' goaltender Ann Renee Desbiens, who won the Patty Kazmaier Award Saturday as the nation's top player, had 17 saves in her college finale as the U-W finished 33-3-and-4.
