The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team will continue its fight against cancer and recognize a longtime program supporter on Saturday, April 29, during the team’s doubleheader against UW-Platteville at noon at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium.

The Warhawks will recognize public address announcer Tom Lange for his 40 years of service to the program and hold Tom Lange Bobblehead Day as part of the festivities. Bobbleheads will be available for $5 each. Lange is a longtime backer of multiple Warhawk teams. He currently serves as PA announcer for the wrestling and baseball teams and attends numerous events for other sports. In addition, UW-Whitewater will recognize catcher Justin Wegner, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last summer after completing his freshman season in purple and white. All proceeds from admissions and other memorabilia, including JwegStrong wrist bands, will benefit the JwegStrong Fund to help offset costs associated with Wegner’s fight against the disease.
