Fort Atkinson Food Pantry will stay open during regular distribution hours of 3:00 to 5:30 PM on Mondays and Thursdays at 715 Jones Avenue . They are limiting the number of clients in the food pantry at one time, for the safety of clients and volunteers.

State of Wisconsin COVID-19 Information: HERE

Closed: All AARP Foundation Tax-Aide’s Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) and most IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program sites in Wisconsin.

Closed: The Whitewater Arts Alliance’s Cultural Arts Center, through the end of April.

Closed: The Fort Atkinson Club Community Center, until further notice. Call-in office hours 10 am to 2 pm M-F. Also, all FAC-sponsored programs are cancelled at this time.

VFW Post 1879 Located on the Rock River just off HWY 106 West is closed until further notice.

The 18th Annual Distinguished Explorer Award Ceremony and Events Scheduled for April 17th, 2020 on the Beloit College Campus have been cancelled.

Useful Coronavirus Fact vs. Fiction Page from the CDC: HERE

The Hoard Historical Museum will be closing through Thursday, April 16th. All programs, events, and special activities will be cancelled while the Museum is closed. This includes the Mary Hoard Art Show Part 1, Lorine Niedecker Poetry Night, and the Mornings @ the Museum on April 3, and May 1st. All Field Trips are cancelled through May 1st.

Cancelled: City of Whitewater Common Council Meeting. Was scheduled for today (3/17) at 6:30 PM.

Cancelled or Postponed: Upcoming Events at Jefferson County Fair Park, including the HSJC Rabies Clinic, Patti’s Bargain Flea Market, Antique Auctions (3/29 & 4/7), Tri-County Rabbit Show, Cat Show, Dancers with Woofs. See the park’s website for more information.

Compeer Financial will temporarily close all offices effective Wednesday, March 18. Offices will remain closed through Tuesday, March 31, at which point the organization will re-evaluate the situation.

Cancelled: All Scheduled Events of Horizons of Jefferson County. Until further notice.

Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to limit lobby hours until further notice. The Chamber will be open to the public from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, effective March 18.

YWCA Rock County is postponing the Women of Distinction (Her Night to Shine) Gala. YWCA Rock County expects to have a new date in the coming weeks.The decision was based on recommendations from health officials putting limitations on gatherings with 50 or more people.

Festival Foods – Because of the changing COVID-19 situation, we will be altering our store hours. Beginning Wednesday, March 18, locations previously open 24 hours will now close at midnight and open at 5 a.m. We are making this change to provide our guests and associates the safest environment possible while also replenishing our stock levels.

SPECIAL NOTICE: 

The Jefferson County Health Department Strongly Recommends that all Non-essential Social Gatherings of over 50 People be Postponed to Slow the Community Spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). They recommend canceling or postponing events as is feasible. Get more information HERE

Closure: The Dwight Foster Public Library, Fort Atkinson, beginning at 12 noon, March 16 the library will be closed to the public until further notice. At this time they anticipate this closure will continue through April 6. All library events and programs are also cancelled through April 6.

Closure: The Jefferson Public Library will close at 6 p.m. March 16, 2020 for an indefinite period.

Closure: The Irvin L. Young Memorial Library in Whitewater will close as of 8:30 p.m., March 16. Get more information HERE

Area Schools Closed Effective Today 3/16:

School District of Fort Atkinson, School District of Jefferson, Whitewater Unified School District, Watertown Unified School District, School District of Cambridge, Palmyra Eagle Area School District

Per Governor Evers directive, the earliest schools will reopen is Monday, April 6.

Milton Schools Will Be Open for Students on Monday, March 16 ONLY.

Madison College is closing all facilities effective today, 3/16. All facilities district-wide will be closed to the public and students through March 29.

Cancelled: League of Women Voters, Whitewater Area program on the ERA which had been scheduled for March 19.

Postponed: Trudy’s Room Baby Shower event that had been scheduled for March 28.

Cancelled: Fort Atkinson Lions Club Smelt & Fish Fry that had been scheduled for Saturday, April 17.

Jefferson Historical Museum will be closed until further notice.

Whitewater Public Library Memory Café is cancelled. It would have been held April 13th. At this time, the May Café is still scheduled.

Update 3/15

The Jefferson Senior Activity Center will be closed until April 1.  The County Nutrition program will continue to serve meals on wheels.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie St, Fort Atkinson WI – cancel worship and all in person meetings for the next two weeks for the safety of the community.

All Sun Prairie Public Library programs and outreach are cancelled through April 3.

Cancellations and Postponements

An announcement to students from the UW-Whitewater campus – HERE

YWCA Rock County postponing Family Fun Night originally scheduled for Fri, March 13.

The HOME Consortium Board meeting scheduled for next week is cancelled.

The Board of the Whitewater Historical Society met and decided to postpone the upcoming Whitewater Collects event, scheduled for March 21 until possibly the Fall of 2020.

Wild Ones Kettle Moraine chapter has cancelled it’s meeting scheduled for March 21.

The Fort Atkinson Wisconservation Club has postponed their annual banquet from 3/16 to Monday, May 11th, 2020.

The Venturing Crew 166 decide to cancel the spaghetti dinner that was for Monday, March 16.

Lakefront Brewery will be closing to the public. Their Beer Hall, Restaurant, Tours and special events will cease operations until further notice.

Delavan Train Show is cancelling their event that was scheduled for March 21-22.

Dairyland Donkey Basketball at the Whitewater High School for 3/19 is cancelled.
