Chatwood, Cubs Stymie Crew 9-1; Brewers Lose Series 2-1

The Milwaukee Brewers ran into some very good pitching at Wrigley Field this weekend, losing to the Cubs 9-1 yesterday and dropping the series 2-1.

Tyler Chatwood held the Brewers to three hits in six innings, striking out eight and walking just two batters.  Freddy Peralta absorbed the loss for manager Craig Counsell, surrendering four runs on three hits in just three innings.

Orlando Arcia scored the Brewers only run on a scoring single.

Lefty Eric Lauer re-joined the Brewers roster after a COVID-19 scare. He pitched three solid innings for Counsell.

Milwaukee will send right-hander Adrian Houser to the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park today as the Brewers continue the season-starting road trip.

We’ll have Brewers play-by-play coverage on 940 WFAW this evening. Broadcast time is 5:30.
