Madison Police Vote No Confidence For City’s Mayor

The Madison professional police officer’s association said they approved a declaration of no confidence in the leadership of Mayor Satya Rhode-Conway. The board of directors for the MPPOA say it was a resolute vote with over 95% of the association’s voting membership returning a vote of ‘no confidence.’ Back in March of 2019, the MPPOA endorsed Rhodes-Conway for mayor, but after a failed meeting and many months of frustration in “the absence of effective leadership,” the board of directors now feel they have been misled. The directors added, “Collectively we are uncertain of her ability to move forward for the betterment of our police department and our city.”
