Brewers Blow Another Lead, Drop Delayed Home Opener to White Sox 6-4

The Brewers failed to hold a two-run lead while losing their delayed home opener by a 6-4 score to the Chicago White Sox.

Milwaukee was up 4-2 when Jose Abreu pounded a game-tying homer in the seventh.  The go-ahead run scored in the eighth on a wild pitch and Yoan Moncada gave his team some breathing room with a solo shot in the ninth.

It was the first action for the Brewers since COVID-19 wiped out the weekend series against the Cardinals.

David Phelps took the loss.  Former Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia doubled, singled and drove in three runs for Milwaukee.

Right-hander Brandon Woodruff starts tonight’s game against the Sox. We’ll have all the action for you on 940 WFAW starting at 6:35 PM.
