Brewers Split Doubleheader with Cardinals Despite Quiet Offense

The Milwaukee Brewers split a Monday doubleheader against the Cardinals even though the offense was still absent.  Milwaukee won the first game 2-1, then dropped the nightcap 3-2 – both in extra innings.

The day after being no-hit by the Chicago Cubs, Brewers batters managed just eight hits in 17 innings.  They scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to win the first game on Keston Hiura’s RBI.

Then, Milwaukee couldn’t hold a two-run lead in the second game, losing it after nine innings.  Freddy Peralta got the win and Justin Topa took the loss.  The Brewers missed a chance to gain ground on the idle Cubs.
